The manufacturing vertical has long been a target for edge computing and IoT, and today has more applications than any other vertical.

Manufacturing sensors are often provided as an element in an overall system that actually performs the necessary process steps, and they’re often upgraded as the underlying tools and systems change, making this vertical the place where new and old sensor and control elements are most often deployed in a mixture. Atombeam accommodates this through its Neurpac Sensor Embed and Gateway products. The former can be built into new devices, and the latter provides a means of capturing the benefit of data-as-codewords technology for existing installations. Atombeam is also working to host data-as-codewords technology on a chip.
